It’s always a good idea to invest in a waterproof topper regardless of your chances of an accident; it’s just simply easier to keep your mattress clean and to reduce bacteria build-up.
Here are a few of our quick tips for choosing a mattress protector.
Select Natural Materials
Aside from being a little healthier to sleep on, natural materials like cotton or bamboo, for example, can be more comfortable to sleep with. You’re less likely to hear major crinkling and crackles from a natural topper, and these noises might even be a deal-breaker for some.
On top of this, bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic in most cases, so there’s an added health benefit here for younger children or those who are allergy-prone.
Consider Ease of Removal
There’s nothing worse than being woken up in the early hours of the morning to a wet bed, or a child’s soiled mattress protector, so do your best to soften the blow.
