Tempur Breeze Mattress

America’s most renowned and experienced memory foam company has now launched its Breeze collection for a cooler, deeper sleep.

Born as a brainchild of NASA’s research, the company was originally formed to secure aircraft seats and improve aircraft sustainability in case of an accident.

The research was applied to the bedding industry and the first Tempur-Pedic mattress was introduced by a Swedish firm. The company was then introduced in the U.S. as Tempur-Pedic, Inc. in 1992.

Since then, the company has been producing innovative mattress designs and has established itself as the leader of the memory foam mattress market.

TEMPUR-Breeze Mattress Models

Even after huge success and winning customers’ hearts with its quality mattresses, the company doesn’t rest at all. They continually invest in research and introduced four new models in 2019 (just before the pandemic).

All four models are released in the company’s all-new Breeze line and target one major problem that sleepers face: getting hot while sleeping.

And today, we will review all four models, look at the differences between them, and find out the sleeping positions they complement the best.

Who should buy a TEMPUR-Breeze Mattress?

First and foremost, Tempur-Pedic prices are not cheap. Their mattresses have hefty price tags, but they perform well and last more than a decade.

So, if you are looking for a low-cost option, a Tempur-Pedic mattress might not be for you.

Then who should consider Tempur-Pedic, especially their Tempur-Breeze mattresses?

Well, their Breeze line is specifically designed to help users sleep cool. So, if you are a hot sleeper, the Tempur-Breeze mattress is for you.

Let’s look at each Tempur-Breeze model individually and see which sleeping positions they are best suited for.

TEMPUR-Breeze Mattress Recommendations by Sleeping Position

Buying a mattress shouldn’t be random, impulsive decision. You should take some time and consider your preferred sleeping position, body type, and weight. Depending on these factors, mattresses respond to different body types differently. Moreover, the type of material (foam, latex, or coil) used in the construction will also impact your sleeping experience and is something to keep in mind when looking for a mattress.

In the above section, we briefly highlighted the sleep positions that all Tempur-Breeze models suit. Now, let’s get into detailed recommendations and see why a particular model is suitable for a particular sleep position.

Side Sleepers

Contouring, firmness, pressure relief, and lower back support are key factors in a mattress for users who sleep on their sides. Let’s see why these are important.

When you sleep on your side, most of your body weight falls on your hips and shoulders. This weight division requires other areas to be supported well so that your hips and shoulders don’t feel stuck or sunk into the mattress surface. That is where a body-contouring mattress helps.

Then, the material and firmness level of the mattress determine its comfort and support levels. If you are a side sleeper, a hybrid or medium-firm foam mattress are good options since they both can help cradle your hips and shoulders. Further, the coils beneath the foam save these areas from sinking and keep the back supported.

Our Recommendation:

Keeping all these things in mind, we recommend the Tempur-PROBreeze and Tempur-PROBreeze Hybrid mattresses for side sleepers.

Back Sleepers

RECOMMENDED: TEMPUR-PROBREEZE, TEMPUR-PROBREEZE HYBRID, TEMPUR-LUXEBREEZE FIRM

Since the spine rests in its natural position when you lie on your back, sleeping this way is considered the healthiest sleep position.

In this position, sleepers require a mattress that can effectively support the neck and spine and can also contour the hip and other parts of the body. Thus, a medium to firm mattress is best for sleeping on your back because it supports the spine and neck very well.

In terms of material, hybrid mattresses are a good fit for back sleepers since they offer a decent balance between contour and support.

Our Recommendation:

TEMPUR-PROBreeze, TEMPUR-PROBreeze HYBRID, and TEMPUR-LUXEBreeze FIRM are the best options for back sleepers.

Stomach Sleepers

RECOMMENDED: TEMPUR-PROBREEZE HYBRID

Sleeping flat on your stomach is an unnatural position and hence a little tough on our bodies. Still, many people prefer sleeping on their stomachs and should keep the following ideas in mind when purchasing a mattress.

Sleeping on the stomach puts pressure on the chest and hips and somewhat misaligns your spine. So, stomach sleepers need to consider a mattress’s firmness and material of construction carefully.

Since your chest and hip region press heavily against the surface, you would need a mattress with an adaptive top layer that conforms to these parts. However, your mattress can’t be extra soft or your pelvis will feel sunk downward and distort your spinal alignment.

Hence, hybrid mattresses with proper contour and support are an excellent choice for stomach sleepers.

Our Recommendation:

Considering the above factors, the Tempur-PROBreeze Hybrid is the best-suited mattress for stomach sleepers. Moreover, lightweight stomach sleepers might also find the Tempur-PROBreeze mattress a good fit for them.

TEMPUR-PROBreeze Construction

The PROBreeze mattress models have a similar construction in the first four layers but differ in the base layer. The PROBreeze has a high-density foam as the base layer, while PROBreeze Hybrid features a layer of pocketed coils.

Here is how the layered construction goes from top to bottom.

  • Layer 1: It’s a dual layered, removable, (zip-off) and washable cover made of “SmartClimate” materials that feels cool on contact.
  • Layer 2: The second layer is made with PureCool+™ Phase Change Material, an exclusive, innovative technology that effectively absorbs excess heat, so you sleep cool.
  • Layer 3: The third layer is made with TEMPUR-CM+Material, which is highly breathable and airflow supportive and allows heat and humidity to escape. This layer is 5 cm thick.
  • Layer 4: The fourth layer is a 5 cm-thick memory foam layer made with original TEMPUR™ Material, which has advanced adaptability for amazing comfort and support.
  • PROBreeze Base: Then comes the base layer, which is the thickest and most dense layer of the mattress. It’s a foam transition layer and twice as thick as the above comfort layer.
  • PROBreeze Hybrid Base: The Hybrid model has premium support coils that work with foam layers to provide excellent support.

TEMPUR-LUXEBreeze Construction

Tempur-Pedic offers two firmness levels in the LUXEBreeze model: a firm and a plush option.

The LUXEBreeze Soft is for you if you require a soft, enveloping feel from the mattress. On the other hand, if you like a firm or medium-firm feel, you can opt for the LUXEBreeze Firm model.

These two also have a layered construction that goes like this:

  • Layer 1: Layer one is similar to the dual-layered “SmartClimate” cover of the Tempur-PROBreeze model.
  • Layer 2: Layer two is also the same and made with PureCool+™ Phase Change Material.
  • Layer 3: The third layer of TEMPUR-CM+Material is also similar in design but is only 1 cm thinner than PROBreeze’s 5 cm layer.
  • Layer 4: The fourth layer is different from that of the PROBreeze model. It’s a 6 cm thick Ventilated Tempur-APR support layer, which is a pressure-relieving material. This layer has top-to-bottom holes that allow airflow and help you sleep up to 8° cooler.
  • Layer 5: Then comes the transition layer, which is almost double in thickness than the above comfort layer.
  • Layer 6: Finally comes the base layer, which is the thickest and most dense layer similar to the Tempur-PROBreeze models.

Buying Experience

Let’s have a look at the company’s buying experience.

Trial Period

Tempur-Pedic offers a 90-night trial period for all of its mattresses. In case you want to return the mattress, the company requires that you use the mattress for at least 30 nights before making a decision. This requirement is valid because it takes time to know if a mattress truly fits your needs and if your body can adapt to the feel of its memory foam.

The delivery of the mattress, like many others, is not charged, but the returns are not free. Tempur-Pedic charges you $175 for reach return.

Warranty

The company offers a generous and confident 10-year complete replacement warranty. That means, in case of a manufacturing defect, the company is responsible for repairing the defects or replacing the mattress within ten years of the purchase.

But remember that you will have to pay the transportation fee in case of replacement. Further, there are some conditions that you should know:

  • Only the original buyer can file for a warranty claim.
  • Warranty does not apply to purchases from Amazon, eBay, and other sellers. You will have to ask the seller about the warranty and trial in advance.
  • You must use a solid base for the mattress.
  • The warranty will cover any visible sags greater than three fourth of an inch.
  • Any splits or cracks in the material despite proper use will be covered in the warranty.
  • Any defects with the cover’s zipper are also covered in the warranty.

Delivery and Setup

Once you order a Tempur-Breeze mattress, it is delivered to you within two weeks. Plus, you get a free white-glove service. However, the delivery charges are $600 for Hawaii, Alaska, and U.S. Territories, so you might want to check if your state qualifies for free delivery and white-glove service.

Since the mattresses are heavy, the white-glove service is a blessing. Their team nicely sets up the new mattress and takes away your old mattress.

Financing

All Tempur-Pedic purchases can be financed with the Tempur-Pedic Credit Card at 0% APR during the first 48 months.

There is no annual fee on the card and it can be used on TempurPedic.com or at a Tempur-Pedic flagship store. Luckily, you might also pre-qualify for the card before actually making a purchase.

Customer Service

No matter where you go to buy a Tempur-Pedic mattress in the country, you’ll have a company customer representative at your service. He’ll answer all your questions and guide you about the products briefly.

Additionally, they have Sleep Experts accessible via phone or email who can help you choose the right mattress for your body type and sleeping position.

Moreover, the company’s trial period and free delivery are a big relief to the customers.

TEMPUR-Breeze Availability

Tempur-Pedic mattresses, including Tempur-Breeze, are easily purchasable as they are available at more than 6000 retail locations in the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Moreover, the mattresses can be bought online through Amazon, eBay, and other similar marketplaces. If you can’t find a Tempur-Pedic mattress available near you, we recommend checking out Sleep Number Mattresses as an alternative to Tempur-Pedic.

Final Thoughts

The Tempur-Breeze models aim to eliminate the heating issues related to mattresses. Tempur-Pedic has done a fantastic job with its high-quality patent materials and technology that ensure a cooler sleep.

The layered construction effectively supports airflow and breathability and doesn’t compromise on comfort, contouring, and support.

You might be a little concerned about the mattress’s price, but you can be confident that the products are comfortable and durable and justify every cent charged!

So, if you sleep hot and require a memory foam mattress, the Tempur-Breeze mattress models are your best bet!
