Euri Mattress Review 2023

Euri Box

Euri is a new player in the Australian market for boxed mattresses. As a custom-made mattress with a range of options to choose from, including three firmness levels across spring and foam formats, this mattress offers a versatile sleeping experience. The Euri mattress is designed and manufactured in Melbourne, something that is uncommon (if not entirely unheard of) in today’s Australian mattress market.

In this review, we’ll take a closer look at a few different aspects of the Euri mattress and provide you with all the information you need to make an informed purchase decision. We have broken this review down into the following categories:

  • Comfort
  • Support
  • Motion transfer
  • Unpacking and setup
  • Value for money
  • Personal preferences
  • Comparing the Euri to leading competitors

If you want our verdict without having to read on, we can confidently recommend the Euri. While it isn’t the cheapest mattress you’ll come across, there are certainly more expensive options out there that provide a worse sleep experience. This is also one of the most customisable mattresses available today. All in all, you’ll pay a decently low price for a high quality mattress (and high quality sleep), making it one of the better value mattresses out there today.

Mattress Build

The Euri’s structure can be separated into three layers:

  • Quilting
  • Foam Comfort Layer
  • Core Layer

Quilting

The Euri uses an Australian made, bamboo infused cover with 300GSM wool blend wadding and breathable foam.

Core

The Euri spring offering includes a 7 zoned pocket spring system – this is comprised of 660 individual twice-tempered springs.

Foam

The foam comfort layer is Australian-made, antimicrobial treated and GECA-certified

Value for Money:

The Euri mattress offers great value for money, with both a spring and foam option available at a range of prices. The mattress is designed and manufactured in Melbourne, which is a great way to support local businesses. With free delivery and a quick setup, the Euri mattress provides excellent value for money.

From personal experience, this is one of the more pleasant mattresses I have tested at this price point.

Score: 4.5/5

Mattress Quality

We couldn’t fault the Euri’s quality. The mattress build felt very solid, similar to most traditional (not in-a-box) mattresses.

As per the Euri website, the mattress is custom made in Euri’s Melbourne factory with strong, environmentally friendly components.

Another reason as to why the mattress feels well made is that every Euri is made to order – this means that it spends just a few days in a box, with no time sitting in a warehouse. To provide some perspective, most competitor mattresses will be boxed for upwards of 90 days.

Comfort

Comfort is one of the most important factors when choosing a mattress, and the Euri mattress delivers in this department.

The Euri mattress is designed to reduce pressure points to help with reducing pain and foster maximal spinal health, which is something that, in my opinion, the mattress does well.

Euri’s Foam Comfort Layer

Across both spring and foam Euri options, each mattress has three firmness levels to choose from – soft, medium and firm. This is thanks to Euri’s foam comfort layer, which is actually removable from the mattress itself and as a result, easily replaceable. As a result, you won’t have to worry about buying an entire mattress if you decide you want a different mattress firmness.

After my experience with the Euri, I enjoyed all 3 firmness levels, leaning towards the medium as a favourite. The medium firmness provided the perfect balance of comfort and support, but ultimately, this will come down to personal preference.

Foam vs Spring

Aside from the foam comfort layer, your comfort experience will also depend on whether you choose Euri’s foam or spring option.

Foam

The foam option has a more plush feel, and will provide a warmer experience. You’ll sleep slightly warmer than the spring option, and will also benefit from better movement absorbency, and improved contouring.

Spring

In comparison to the foam options, Euri’s spring mattresses provide a firmer, more supportive feel, closer to a traditional mattress experience. You’ll sleep slightly cooler on this mattress.

Comfort Score: 4.5/5

Support:

A mattress must provide proper support for the back and spine, and the Euri mattress does just that. The foam option provides a soft, contouring feel, while the spring option provides a firmer, yet still supportive feel. The medium firmness option is perfect for those who want a balance of comfort and support, but all three firmness levels provide great support. The mattress is designed to reduce pressure points and help with reducing pain, which is a great feature for those who suffer from aches and pains.

The Euri also provides good edge support, with double reinforced edges.

Score: 4.5/5

Motion Transfer:

Motion transfer is important to consider if you sleep with a partner. The Euri mattress does an excellent job of isolating movement, ensuring that you won’t be disturbed by your partner’s movements in the middle of the night. This is great news for those who want a peaceful and undisturbed sleep.

For some additional context, we reviewed Euri’s spring mattress offering – while it is usually foam mattresses that provide the best motion transfer experience, the spring mattress performed impressively.

Score: 4.5/5

Delivery, Unpacking and Setup:

The Euri mattress was easy to unpack and set up – just open the box, pull out the mattress and watch it expand. The product comes with a box opener, making it easy to get the mattress out of the box and onto your bed frame.

The Euri also includes handles around the edges of the mattress – something that I certainly appreciated as I moved the mattress around (this is a simple feature that is unfortunately missing from many mattress in a box options at the moment).

Delivery was also very quick, with the mattress arriving in just a matter of days (shipped from Melbourne, where it was also manufactured). For those who are looking for a mattress but wanting to avoid any long wait times or delivery issues, the Euri is a good option.

Score: 5/5

Personal Preferences:

The Euri mattress provides a versatile sleeping experience, with a range of options to choose from, including a spring and foam option, and three firmness levels. I preferred the medium firmness, but all levels are comfortable, providing a great sleeping experience. The mattress is designed to reduce pressure points and help with reducing pain, which is a great feature for those who suffer from aches and pains.

In addition to the customisable firmness levels and build types, you also have the option to customise your mattress trim colour, mattress sides and covers.

Score: 5/5

Comparison with Other Leading Mattresses (Koala, Emma and more):

When compared to other leading mattresses in the market, the Euri mattress holds its own.

The Euri is slightly more expensive than Emma Sleep and Koala mattresses, but as a result, you’ll find that the mattress offers superior comfort and support. You’re also paying for a locally made mattress, with a high build quality and great customisation options.

Competitors like the Emma mattress do offer spring build products, although Koala does not. The Euri does beat out these two when it comes to customisation and choice.

Another important point of differentiation is that unlike competing mattresses, Euri mattresses are made to order. As a result, they are built exactly as you choose, and spend just a few days in a box.

If you are looking for a mattress on a budget, there are cheaper options out there. The Euri instead offers a more premium experience in line with traditional mattresses, at a slightly higher price point.

Score: 4.5/5

Our Verdict

With a range of options to choose from, this mattress offers a comfortable and supportive sleeping experience no matter what your preference. The mattress does a good job at reducing pressure points, making it a great option for those who suffer from aches and pains. The Euri mattress is also easy to unpack and set up, with quick delivery, and offers great value for money.
