To help improve the shopping experience for customers, the two decided to bring the mattress market to the online world as back then people would typically shop for their mattresses in-person.
Fast forward to the current day and the team at Emma has expanded to over 500 team members and has reportedly sold 1.5 million mattresses in the last year to customers all around the globe.
Diamond Hybrid Mattress Overview
The Emma Diamond Hybrid Mattress is a medium-soft temperature-regulating mattress that boasts several great features, such as:

Emma currently offers two different mattresses, the Emma Comfort and the Emma Diamond Hybrid, with the Diamond Hybrid being the more ‘premium’ mattress they sell.

My partner and I purchased the king-size Emma Diamond Hybrid Mattress as we were in the process of moving apartments and wanted to upgrade our current mattress.
Additionally, we also purchased the Emma Signature Bed and the Emma Flip Topper to go along with the mattress.
The mattress was sent over inside a tightly-packed cardboard box (45x45x110cm) that was admittedly quite heavy to lift by myself. In fact, it required a hand trolley to have it transported safely into our apartment.
Unboxing
Inside the cardboard box, you will find the mattress, which is wrapped tightly inside an airtight plastic covering. Emma provides a small plastic tool with the mattress that can be used to cut the plastic and remove the mattress that is enclosed inside.
Surprisingly, I didn’t notice any kind of odour coming from the mattress – which can be common when unboxing a brand-new mattress for the first time.
The instructions prompt you to wait a number of hours before using the mattress to make sure the mattress has had enough time to fully expand.
Overall, the unboxing process was incredibly simple and easy.
Construction
It is clear that the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress is designed for comfort. All thanks to its multi-layer design that helps regulate your body temperature during the night.
There are a number of different layers that make up the mattress:
- Removable elastic mattress cover
- Diamond Degree® graphite foam
- Adaptive comfort foam
- Pocket springs
- HRX foam
Each layer has been implemented for a specific purpose. For instance, the adaptive comfort foam is used to evenly distribute the pressure on your body so you can comfortably sleep in any sleeping position, regardless of your shape or size.
For a mattress like this, it is generally recommended to have it sit on a slatted bed frame to prevent any issues with overheating and to support air circulation of the mattress.
Firmness
Compared to other mattresses on the market, I would say that the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress is more on the firmer side. I am predominantly a side and back sleeper and my partner sleeps mostly on her back or stomach.
We did not find the mattress to be too firm to sleep on in any sleeping position.
Therefore, I think that the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress is suitable for all sleeping positions. It doesn’t matter if you’re a side sleeper, back sleeper or stomach sleeper, you shouldn’t have any issues with the firmness of the mattress.
100-Night Trial Period
Emma gives you the opportunity to try out any of their mattresses in the comfort of your own home thanks to their generous ‘100-night trial period.’ If you find that the mattress is not right for you then simply have it returned for a full refund of your money.

10-Year Warranty

Conclusion
My partner and I have been sleeping on the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress for about a month now and I can honestly say that the difference between this mattress and our previous one is night and day.
One of the biggest issues we faced with our previous mattresses was that whenever I moved or changed my sleeping position during the night it would cause my partner to wake up (she is an incredibly light sleeper!).
On top of that, our previous mattress was much less comfortable to sleep on and some nights we would not feel completely rested after a full night’s sleep.
We do not face any of these issues with the Diamond Hybrid mattress (so far!).
Overall, if you are on the market for a premium mattress then you should definitely not overlook the Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress.
